The Master Battery - UPM Chair gives a technical-training day to the students of the CESAL Photovoltaic Solar Installations Course

• The conference was held at the School of Engineering and Industrial Design (ETSIDI) and was inaugurated by its director, Francisco Santos Olalla, who highlighted the educational value of the course and thanked the Master Battery - UPM Chair for its involvement in this initiative.

• The course is part of the training programme promoted by the NGO CESAL, in collaboration with the Iberdrola-UNICEF alliance, within the Generation Unlimited project promoted by the United Nations.

• The practical session took place on the photovoltaic roof of the ETSIDI, which was set up as a practice and testing area, where the students worked with storage equipment donated by Master Battery.

Madrid, 28 April 2025 - The Master Battery Chair - Polytechnic University of Madrid, in collaboration with Ciudadenergía and Master Battery, has developed a technical-training day for the students of the Basic Operations Course in Assembly and Maintenance of Solar Photovoltaic Installations, organised by the NGO CESAL.

The day began in the classroom of the Master Battery - UPM Chair at the ETSIDI. The director of the school, Francisco Santos Olalla, was in charge of opening the event, underlining the social and educational relevance of the course, and thanking the Chair for its commitment to this type of initiative. Subsequently, representatives of Ciudadenergía, UNICEF, Iberdrola and CESAL took the floor, highlighting the value of working together to offer real, quality training opportunities. The opening concluded with a speech by Professor Julio Amador, Director of the Chair, who explained the development and objectives of the conference.

The central part of the meeting focused on specifically technical content so that the students could have contact with professional equipment and understand how it works, which will be key to their future employment. The training was given by Joaquín García Llanos, technical manager of Master Battery, and included an assembly simulation with all the elements of a photovoltaic solar installation.

The equipment used - batteries, inverters and accessories from the different brands of the Master Battery group - were donated to the ETSIDI through the Chair within the collaboration agreement between the company and the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

The Basic Operations Course in the Assembly and Maintenance of Photovoltaic Solar Installations includes 125 hours of training, combining technical theory with practical work in companies in the sector. At the end of the programme, students receive a diploma of attendance and achievement issued by the Polytechnic University of Madrid and supported by CESAL, Iberdrola, UNICEF and the Community of Madrid.

This course is aimed at young people in vulnerable situations, with the objective of offering them specialised technical training and facilitating their integration into the labour market, in the context of an economy based on a fair and sustainable energy transition.
