Master Battery secures its first direct contract with CFE, Mexico's largest electricity company

Mexico City / Madrid, 1 September 2025 – The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has awarded Master Battery North America a tender for the supply of nickel-cadmium (NiCd) batteries for the operation and security of its electrical infrastructure.

This agreement marks the first direct contract between Master Battery and CFE, positioning the Spanish company as a strategic supplier for Mexico's national electricity infrastructure and boosting its growth in the Central American energy market.

NiCd batteries: maximum reliability for critical infrastructure

Nickel-cadmium (NiCd) batteries are used in backup electrical systems, substations and power plants, where safety and continuity of supply are essential. Their ability to withstand extreme temperatures and offer a long service life makes them an ideal solution for ensuring the stability of these critical infrastructures.

A strategic step for Master Battery

The CFE, a state-owned company with national coverage, is Mexico's largest and most important electricity company, responsible for the generation, transmission, distribution and commercialisation of electricity in the country.

The award of this contract is a technical recognition of the quality of Master Battery's solutions, which meet the demanding standards of a leading utility such as the CFE. It also strengthens the company's position in the international market and puts it at the forefront for future projects of a similar nature in Central America.
