Ciudadenergía and Master Battery collaborate with CESAL on the ETSIDI-UPM Photovoltaic Installations Course aimed at young people in vulnerable situations
- Ciudadenergía and Master Battery have organised a training day for students on the course on energy storage applied to solar photovoltaic systems.
- During the course, taught at ETSIDI-UPM, students carried out practical work with batteries and equipment donated as part of the Master Battery – Polytechnic University Chair in energy storage research.
- The course, entitled ‘Basic operations in the assembly and maintenance of renewable energy installations’, was taught by ETSIDI teaching staff and technical personnel in collaboration with the NGO CESAL and is aimed at young people at risk of social exclusion.
Móstoles (Madrid), 10.02.2026 - Ciudadenergía and Master Battery have organised a technical training day for students on the Basic Operations in the Assembly and Maintenance of Renewable Energy Installations course, promoted by the NGO CESAL and developed at ETSIDI-UPM.
During the day, students were able to learn first-hand about real energy storage solutions and their practical application in solar photovoltaic installations and self-consumption systems. The session began in the Master Battery – UPM classroom, where the technical team reviewed the basic elements of a solar installation and answered questions from the students.
The group then toured the product showrooms, where the characteristics and performance of solar batteries and inverters were explained. The visit concluded on the solar roof of the corporate building, where students learned how the storage cabinet manages the energy generated by the building's self-consumption photovoltaic installation.
One of the distinguishing features of this collaboration has been the use, during the course at ETSIDI - UPM, of equipment donated as part of the University-Business Chair in Energy Storage Research. This professional equipment has enabled students to carry out practical work in real environments, strengthening their technical skills and improving their employability.
Generation Unlimited Programme
The initiative is part of the collaboration between CESAL, UNICEF Spain and Iberdrola within the Generation Unlimited programme, which aims to improve the employability of vulnerable young people through specialised training in sectors with high labour demand, especially in the field of energy transition.
The Higher Technical School of Engineering and Industrial Design at the Polytechnic University of Madrid acts as a leading academic environment, facilitating the connection between the training sector and the business sector.
The NGO CESAL mentors the students, teaching them basic social skills and collaborating throughout the learning process to optimise each student's performance.
This joint action reinforces the commitment of Ciudadenergía and Master Battery to technical training, energy transition and the creation of professional opportunities for vulnerable groups.
